Don't be a dumb chicken waiting to be slaughter

Nowadays, we can't be too trusting. bad things happen when you least expect it. And somehow I survive living in KL alone for nearly 11 years, thanks God for that. I believe especially us lady, we are an easy target for perverts, snatch thief, robbers, rapist and even murderer, we need to have certain rules on how to protect ourself.

Below is a compilation of the list of safety tips I follow very very closely. I survive for 11 years with nothing really bad happened to me so it must mean that these tips really do works.

List of the safety tips:

1) Trust your gut feeling, your instinct

If you feel something is wrong, then something is wrong. For instance, walking in a dark place, alley or wherever that you are alone. If you feel scared then it might be nothing BUT if you feel that something is really wrong that you yourself don't understand why. Then go back, retrace your step, find safe place to go, areas with people surrounding you, 7-eleven. Worst come to worst, just go to a bunch of people and follow with them even if they will look at you weirdly. I did that once, even though it might make you feel like an idiot. But better safe than regretting it.

2) Be aware of your surrounding

Yes, girls... That means no sms'ing while walking. Try to avoid talking on your mobile while "window shopping" and especially walking home at night to your house and even to you parked car. Listen to any suspicious sound surrounding you, especially behind you. No listening to MP3 especially (this is my Achilles' heel)

3) Just in case, hold your keys in your hand.

This is especially when walking to your parked car, or like me walking to the bus stop at night. Going up the lift, stairs to your apartment. So that in any case *palis-palis* someone suddenly grabbed you, the keys can be used as weapon. Damn care about the assailant just aim at their face, eyes and cheek especially. Just bloody blind them, and now the MOST important part "RUN" away to safe place and shout "FIRE FIRE". Don't bloody stay there and give the asshole time to recover and chase you.

4) Don't trust someone very quickly

Give time to know someone before following them anywhere especially their house. Simple example
"Oh, can we stop at my house for awhile, I gotta go pick up my dirty laundry and send it to the laundry"
That look very innocent, maybe he is really going to pick up his dirty laundry BUT you never know.

5) Don't put yourself in a situation where you can be taken advantage of

Especially girls that go for a night out, clubbing or just lepaking at mamak. If you're drunk or not feeling well NEVER accept someone (that you just got to know like a few hours ago) offer to drop you back home... Again NEVER!!!! This is the mistake we girls make a lot. Always go back with your known and trusted friend. But be aware trust only the friends that really cares about you. It doesn't matter if your house and her/his is from one end to another. Do not make this mistake or you'll be one of the victim in statistic.

If you guys notice, most of it is not about equipping yourself with guns, pepper spray, stunner, karate moves and etc. We just need to be diligent, more aware of our surrounding and be clever obviously. Don't become like a dumb chicken, waiting to be slaughter.

Me rambling away again

You see, even "kononnya" I went on a sabbatical re-thinking of the direction of how I want to change my blogging style and stop blogging for a few days or weeks. I know what and how I want to change but then, it's just doesn't click.... Up to the point I really feel, like those wannabee "Next American Idol" that went confidently (well they do look so confident)for the Audition and announcing to the judge and the whole world that they are the best singer EVER then they literally kill us by singing the most horrible rendition of the song. That you end up wondering, why do they even try?

Well, let me just stop pretending that I can be the kind of blogger that I look up too. The ones that wrote such wonderful post that keep me wanting more.

Let me do what I do best, rambling away confusing the already confused reader out there :) *evil snicker* ngehehehe...

A bientôt,
karulann

The cardinal sin of blogging

First and foremost, I'm admitting a cardinal sin of blogging. I purposely avoided blogging at all. Ran out of idea? Nah.. I got tons of thing I want to write about. No time to spare? Nahh.. If i have time to download and read the hundreds volume of mangas, then I should have at least 5-10 minutes to just blabber a short post. Not interested in blogging? Another nahhh... I am still interested in blogging, very much actually. I love the freedom to be able write about anything without someone out there to controlling what I write.

It's just that I wanted to change the way I blog, I personally hated the way I'm blogging right now. Too much emotional baggage. Gotta say the things that happen to me recently and throughout last year was horrible and it affected the way I'm blogging.

But it's gotta stop, period! Even I am feeling "jelak" at my own post. :)

Well give me a lil bit of time to figure out how I'm going to reform myself as a blogger. Till then...

Ciao,
karulann

ps: oohhh I got a huge surprise in a few months time... the hint's of what it is, is there in the post :P
