Favorite Great American Seafood Recipe

I am a food lover, especially seafood based food... My favorites would be prawns, I just love prawns, cook in butter, curry and etc other available way … And the best cooking style I love would be the simplest way to cook seafood, just steam the freshest prawn I can get my hand on (e.g. still wriggling and breathing and just come from the local fisherman, fresh seafood is always the best to cook with…) with garlic and soy sauce and I’m in bliss. As I’m living all alone far way from my family, cooking is not an option for me as it is quite trouble some to cook for one person and I tend to finish every drop of food that I cooked, as I was brought up hearing my mom saying “the food will cry if you waste it”. And because of that my waistline size are in danger.. So I usually will just buy takeaway food at home or just eat it “all alone” in a restaurant (poor me *evil grin*).

So instead of cooking, I love to collect recipe and make a scrap book of it. As soon I went back to my hometown for some holiday, I roll up my sleeve, open the scrapbook, choose the recipe that I wanted to cook and start cooking it..

Now as I was browsing around looking some good recipe to add to my scrapbook, I found a recipe that is one of the five finalists for the 2008 “Great American Seafood cook off” competition. Which recipe it is? Well of course the “Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet” a recipe by Chef Brian Landry from Louisiana… Why this recipe? Well of course as you know it got shrimps and also it doesn’t need too much ingredient to cook an easy and simple recipe. Well, a little changes in the recipe, I would omit the beans added as I don't like any types of bean in my food and change it with potato...

Well how about heading to the Great American Seafood Cook-Off site (www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com) and vote for your favourite recipe in order to win a Trip to New Orleans... Now isn't that just nice...
